Andrew’s wise mother is fond of saying, “If you want something done… give it to a busy person.”
I have never spent so much time doing literally nothing as I have during the past month.
Don’t give it to me or it won’t get done.

In my childhood, long before social media, a woman used to visit our hamlet and tell us stories about her grand life in the city. She had 3 children; the 2 boys were a Doctor and a Lawyer and the daughter was a fashion model… She told me I could do so much better for myself if I just got away from the people I grew up with.
In adulthood I visited the city that is still my home and I visited that woman and sadly found a life in shambles. The Doctor was really a down and out drug addict. The lawyer was really a career criminal who had spent so much time in prison that his friends referred to him as institutionalized. And the daughter was something far less than a fashion model.
It’s not so much about what people are or aren’t… I’m just failing to understand why people want to put others down while they falsely build themselves up??
Now I am beginning to see the appeal of social media and its service to humanity.

There’s a point where you realize… It’s just a dream and regardless of how far down the rabbit hole you went or how real this parallel universe seems (if you believe in that theory) it is just a dream and you are safe.
I have someone in my life who I’ve described as a nightmare many times and i just realized today that I might be able to apply the same principle here.
Seems far fetched however one can be forced into such grasping when lacking alternatives.

I fear sarcasm has been killed by passive aggressive communication… So sad really that a well timed put down is just useless when the Maroons take what you say as a compliment.
eq: A bakery in the neighborhood makes fabulous scones. I asked if they could put butter on the scone as I am taking it to go. .. I am told they can give me a package of butter but don’t include anything to spread the butter with. When this is brought to their attention they offer me a plate and a butter knife. I say, “What fabulous service. ” The woman said, “Always.”
Either she knew it was Sarcasm and killed it with passive aggresivity or it went over her head. Either way… Sarcasm is officially fucked!

Throw the rules out the window… They don’t apply here! Unless they do. Then apply rule #1. Rule#1- Never get caught. Rule #2- Never shit in your own nest. Rule #3- Follow the money. Rule #4- Treat yourself with respect. Rule #5- The Golden rule…
Talk amongst yourselves.

The Shortest Day
Is the Longest Night
And the Brightest Star
Is the Rarest Sight…

I live in Parkdale where the ‘cool kids ‘ would call, ‘Street’…due to the poverty, drug addiction, homelessness that’s so abundant here.
Yesterday and the day before a package arrived each day from Amazon, Christmas presents for my daughter, that were to big for the mailbox and in what I might describe as moments to restore my faith in humanity, the packages were there when I returned home hours after delivery. Goodonya Parkdale!
The drunk man huddled in the bus shelter muttered, “another fucking day” before swigging from a beer can.

It came to me when I was sleeping. And it came when I was tired. It came when I was rested. No excuses were required. It happens in my dreams. This sort of unconscious fear. I see your face and you’re angry. Your reasons aren’t as clear. I guess someone betrayed you. I guess they look like me. I’ve about now had enough. Of your emotionality.

I saw someone grimace and my first thought was after, ‘poor bastard’, I’m pain free! Not something to be taken lightly…
What luxury!
