With so much information available at fingertips, I have glanced the ancients from Thales to Diogenes ( My personal favorite )
So much was lost in the library destruction at Alexandria, but a full copy of the Lucretius poem OF THE NATURE OF THINGS was found in the late 1400’s in a German monastery. This is considered by some to be the most important piece of writing ever written and is also regarded by Stephan Greenblatt in his Pulitzer prize-winning book THE SWERVE, with sparking the Renaissance.
