Sex Appeal

She said, “He has absolutely no sex appeal… not a tattoo, nothing. Zero… nothing to offer whatsoever.”

I hadn’t a clue who she was referring to. I just knew it wasn’t me; but still I stared at my Nova Scotia mapped tartan tat to make sure it was still there. I winked at the Vitruvian Man with the head of Homer Simpson and I bit my tongue. Not fucking really, just a figure of speech; cause what I really wanted to say was:

“Who in the name of the baby Jesus is going to show a flirtatious fun sex appeal side of themselves in this environment of political correct victims r us nightmare? Certainly not anyone I know…”

The Fiction Writer

I wondered for just a breathe, if I had made it all up… the pain and suffering.

Then I remembered…

I don’t believe in fiction mainly because I wasn’t allowed to tell lies.

More accurately there were great consequences for telling lies. Beatings and the like.

I learned to take my licks. The last one I just stood there and took it stone faced; staring down each blow like some badge of honor. No fuck you mother!

I more than made up for lost time in the lying department, and am just now giving myself permission to write fiction.

Mr Johnson

Mr Johnson strolls down Queen Street Greeting those he meets like a politician kissing babies, armed with the gift of remembering everyone’s name…

“Mr Filmore, good morning!”

“Mr Johnson. ”

“Mr Francesco.”

Mr Francesco isn’t saying much today. He seems to be concentrating on the ramblings of the old woman who’s taken up residence in the bus shelter. She screams, “Bigshot!” at the drivers of the cars who pass by. She’s seems angry that they’ve wasted their youth hoarding gold.

Steve’s friend suggests to what he calls the best blow job in Parkdale that she ply her trade elsewhere.

The neighborhood is a lively little microcosm this morning.

Me?

I’ll just go to work and leave the neighborhood to Mr Johnson to greet and meet.

New Story

She said, ” Tell me a story about when you were a kid. :”

I had told her all that I wanted to or had. I just didn’t want to say that.

” I want to make new story. New story with you… I think I told you all there is to tell about back there and then. :”

It seemed strange that say…

Have I finally walked away from whatever that was?

Physical and Spiritual

The physical world is easy because our senses tell us that this is real.

The spiritual not so much.

The financial is truly what’s easy to meditate on. The mental is a toss up dependent on the individual or moment. The emotional is dominant in the mental world and just as flawed. These are the 5 features that make up this human experience.

The physical world of man made technology and innovation has separated us from the spiritual, but the spiritual world is there, connecting and binding it all…

The Unconditional Trifecta

“You are loved, with nothing to fear and you can do no wrong. ”

I have never heard this sentence said by or to anyone; certainly not me…

What relief must come from such words.

I will say this to my daughter and study her reaction like a batter studies a curve or the better studies a racing form.

I will repeat it to the point where she will say, “Please Daddy stop! I know you love me and I have nothing to fear and I can do no wrong. ”

The Calm

I have not experienced a longer, more extended period of calm.

The usual way of experiencing calm is to dread its inevitable end…

Not this time.

I have faced some fears and desires seem attainable or the awareness of not getting what I want is affordable.

This blissful period will be fondly remembered in the future that doesn’t yet exist.
