It’s raining on a Monday and November’s filled the air, with something that seems close to snow that shit is everywhere.

It’s brought with her a misery that at first seems hard to take, but it’s not getting any brighter and the smiles are hard to fake.

It’s winter here in Canada and the fun is far from gone, she’s just moved inside a bit, but the lights are rarely on.

I had this monstrous dream where something came out of my throat that landed in my hands and it was huge and soft and held it’s shape and I laid there staring into my empty hands through closed eyes.

When I woke on Sunday morning on the 12th day of this flu, it was over and I was back to stellar health.

What a battle it was!

One dealer… I can’t remember which one, said, ” It’s the quiet ones that scare me. I don’t know why, but they give me the heebie geebies.”

They always seemed to be out dualing one another with their fear based wisdoms and I knew who they were talking about.

“The ones who frighten me are the ones that aren’t afraid of losing everything. Ya just can’t fuck with that. ”

For me the debate was over… I was no longer being interested in being the gossip fodder for dealers…

So very few get out alive and I left them to their miseries; many years ago…

My only job was to get them from point A to point B, but but here I was driving a bus full of 11 men, most of who can smell fear… so I use honesty as a weapon.

“I am lost.”

11 phones arrived in front of their collective faces simultaneously and proper directions shortly thereafter.

They seemed very proud of themselves.

Whenever I am lost I say we have an app for that. I love this technology.

You do what you can. Block, deflect, ignoring the chatter and background noises which is all so much about opinion from those trying to figure it all out while not having 2 clues to rub together and pretending they are all knowing.

They don’t confuse me anymore, it’s just part of growing up. Some will accomplish this feat against all odds. Please hurry though or don’t bother crossing my path with your unsolicited advice while I’m sick or I may just deliver you a couple clues.

The problem with being sick is I just go into survival mode. I have lost interest in everything except my daughter.

I don’t read, write or paint; I just hover.

Hooray I made the quota.

They said that I can stay.

But I stepped on so many toes.

They sent me on my way.

I learned here life lessons.

About never looking back.

And kindness not the only way.

But it’s a sound and virtuous tact.
