She Said He Said

She said, ” You know… I’d like to talk.”

He said , ” I only have 1 prejudice… It’s against the willfully stupid. I can deal with ignorance, albeit frustrating, however if you show yourself to be not teachable, especially when I demonstrate to you the error of your ways… then I don’t see what we have to talk about.”

She said, ” I am not asking you to fix everything; I just need you to listen.”

He said,  ” I’ve heard from you all I need to hear.”

So many ways to communicate

so little understanding…

#Observations at 2:17 a.m.

I know a man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

I know a girl who calls me Dad, whom can look me in the eye and speak the truth or not, with equal enthusiasm.

I know a man who knows the history of everything and is grateful for all that he has.

I have loved and I have raged and I now see that both were probably an over-reaction.

We all appear to be very very different from one another despite our similarities in skeletal biology.

CRUEL WORDS!

I have to be careful                                           I can go there easily                                         It’s like effortless easy                                   It’s all natural as sleazy                               It’s so easy to be cruel                                     A small effort to be the fool

He said, ” You weren’t born… You were jerked on a stump and hatched in the sun.”

Proverbs says, “Even a fool who stays silent can appear wise.”

You let that shit out of the bag and all bets are off.

The Weary Traveler

I saw the world traveler pushing her dog in a baby stroller today; she looked tired and old…

” Good morning. ” I offered. Couldn’t remember her name. The dog’s name is Ducae. ” Any summer trips planned?”

She smiled.  ” I’m leaving for Los Angeles for a week and then Spain for 2 months… I don’t like cottages. ” Her expression changed; serious… ” I’m tired of traveling,  I’m tired of living out of a suitcase. Do you ever get like that; road weary?

“No.” I smiled, knowing she wouldn’t hear.

“Sometimes I just feel like staying home.” Her expression changed again; my NO registered.

” Now that I am familiar with… I like being home.”

I wondered if I’d ever see her again.

Breaking Habits

She’s going away from me for the summer and I miss her before she goes…  It’s an opportunity the wise would say however I am so far removed from that myth in matters of the heart.

I always let my fears pass through me spending as little time as possible before coming to the conclusion of letting go. I have control over so very little.

I will miss my little girl and work through that and await her return. I will write the book and spend my time there.

The Arrival

It’s not the destination It’s the journey! Really? If that’s true then why make plans ? Is that why I love being home? Who makes this stuff up? Do they think it through?

So many questions…

Maybe the destination is all it is. Maybe it doesn’t matter a fuck how you arrive! Maybe, just maybe, it’s that you arrive at your destination.

I feel so many fear success that they buy into these cliches without thought.

In the dark all cats are gray…

In the dark all cats are gray                      Regardless of color in the light of day  The damndest thing the strange you say. I fear you now not yesterday.

Was yesterday I heard the scream              I jumped from bed was in a dream        Smashed my foot in darkness gleamed  Pain felt real or so it seemed.

Back to bed at regain control                  Felt that pain ebb and roll                        Heard your voice in my soul                Closed my eyes and paid the toll.

The Alcoholic,  the Cocaine Addict and God

In the microcosm of my work, in the film industry, our transportation team is headed up by a coordinator, a captain, and a co-captain…
Mad Willie told me about a past trio that had gained some notoriety for a mixture of chaos and entertainment. They were known collectively as the alcoholic, the cocaine addict and God.
I will protect their real identities, mainly because I feel strongly about discretion and anonymity… another reason is I consider God to be a close personal friend.

Spiritual Malady

It’s in the 20 plus phone calls/day I get from Somalia or Ghana or some other country I don’t know anyone or if you answer… no one picks up.

It’s in the little buns dudes are wearing on the tops of their heads thinking that this is cool and whomever is sleeping with them.

It’s in the drunken addicted rages of the terminally unhappy but at least they might have a valid excuse.

It’s in the crosswalk slowing down or picking up pace… whichever causes the maximum inconvenience to those trying to proceed or turn.

It’s in the city crowds of silence…

Do I sound bitter?

I’m not.
