I got stung with that ambition.
But it didn’t leave a scar.
The way that others suffered.
Just to dream that far.
In my dreams I saw the future.
Said better me than you.
Truer words were never spoken.
Don’t bite more than you can chew.

Different isn’t common.
But when it comes to mind.
You just know it when you see it.
And you hope it will be kind.

There is Will and there’s that Oscar.
There is Chris and there’s the Slap.
There is fame and all it stands for.
From this view looks like a trap.
In this shade of anonymity.
Where we all search for more.
There are smiles and more head shakes.
And feet are shuffling for the door.

Somehow snow appeared in April.
March applause was for the fool.
In this world of explanations.
The judgements here are cruel.
There is something in the water.
Strange smells that fill the air.
I’ve been listening to your story.
You’ve had it rough, if I were fair.
And the woke they have been listening.
Spreading rumors they can defend
Seems the beauty’s in the struggle.
And the lies are in pretend.

Not much to brag about really…
However I made my final payment to my lawyer today.
I thanked him for his help and hard work!
Also he was paid in a timely fashion.
I didn’t apologize for all the lawyer jokes I made and it might be a little bit like my friend, Jeff the Chef said… “It’s like when the last rapist is removed from your jail cell. It’s not that you win! It’s that you survived.

The words were hard to come by…
A long story short.
In a world not lacking drama.
Nothing I felt I should report.
There is sunshine in the mornings.
At night the air is cool.
The Oscar’s are looking for a host.
Cause someone played the fool.

All this sleep has made me docile.
Laying here can’t get my fill.
Less is more and slow is good.
A day off to veg and chill.
There are things I feel I must do.
Some apologies I should send.
Someone’s feelings I did crush.
Though never meaning to offend.
The day is young and chances good.
That they won’t be the last.
They have these things they bring along.
They dredge up from the past.

Whenever I encounter words which I don’t know or am unsure of the meaning; I use it in a sentence as quickly as I can in an attempt to retain it.
She said, “It means people who protect their self interests…”
Google states it means, ‘Lacking imagination.’
Me? “I’m just going to try to walk right on past all this myopic.“

At school she feels like an outcast.
The others are giving her the ‘stink eye.’
Whispering about her while looking at her.
She is being bullied by weakness…
It’s a strange world this world of children where they learn to be mean to one another. I lived through this and I’m sure she will to.
I think I liked the survival of the fittest model better.
First she was physically bullied and I told her she could stand up for herself and that ended that.
Later in the day I checked in on her at school. She said, “I feel better for getting that off my chest.”
“So you’re not feeling like an outcast?”
“No.”

Bob from The Tire Store fixed my flat and came close to bursting into tears.
I asked him what was wrong.
He said,”My Wife…”
And then his voice faded.
“Sorry I can’t talk to well.” He said.
Later he said, “She’s going for a biopsy.”
Let’s pray for Bob’s wife please.
Bob then added with an attempted grin.
“I’m the one to fix your tire though.”
