The Outcast

At school she feels like an outcast.

The others are giving her the ‘stink eye.’

Whispering about her while looking at her.

She is being bullied by weakness…

It’s a strange world this world of children where they learn to be mean to one another. I lived through this and I’m sure she will to.

I think I liked the survival of the fittest model better.

First she was physically bullied and I told her she could stand up for herself and that ended that.

Later in the day I checked in on her at school. She said, “I feel better for getting that off my chest.”

“So you’re not feeling like an outcast?”

“No.”
