The Funny Thing About Fears

The funny thing about fears is that it rarely happens like you imagine it will.

The basic problem with youth, that is so ripe with these moments, is how seldom anyone tells you this and if they do, how often we don’t listen.

Are you really paranoid if someone is trying to kill you? That question can keep the ball rolling in the fear halls across the land…

When you’re young you fear for your own safety and when you’re older you fear for your children…

I imagine the young man I see in the mornings around Front Street and John clutching his head in his hands and screaming incoherently while walking the center lines dodging traffic is dealing with fear at a whole different level…
