Those Things You Say

I asked her if she had low or high self esteem… without hesitation she said, “low.”

And followed that surprise with, “And I know where it comes from.”

“Do share.”

“When I was a kid, I wasn’t good at board games or school. My cousin said I wasn’t very intelligent.”

“How old was your cousin?”

“10”

“You do realize don’t you that most 10 year olds don’t know shit from good chocolate?”

A beautiful bright 25 years old woman who appears to have it all together is being handicapped by a 15 year old comment of a child?!?!

And we believe the things we say don’t matter.Dennis Mantin
