Moments Like These

She said I was selfish and made it sound sane. I said I’m not buying this forecast for rain. She said it with anger and made it quite clear. She said it was love and needs me right here. I said You’re so young with a future so bright. She was through listening and pining for spite. It’s moments like these that make living with pain. Seem worthless and joyous, a confusing refrain. The emotions and beauty, the huff and the puff. This stage worthy drama is hardly enough. So it’s hookers or solitaire, I really don’t know. The Marriage is off, and I’m off to the show.Dennis Mantin
