2a.m. on a Monday

It’s the earliest start time yet.

On the road the drunks are still weaving… I haven’t reached or realised my usual disdain and give a wide berth.

My patience is rewarded with 6 hours sleep by midnight. There’s a light at the end of that tunnel on a cool November morning and I am safe on a rock hurtling through space at unimaginable speeds and once again realize just how little control I have in the grander scheme, however the choices are abundant.

Understanding Women

Turn 60 in under a month and I feel I can safely state that it is impossible to understand women until you have a daughter.

Maybe if you grew up with sisters… then maybe, however since I didn’t have that experience then clearly, I don’t know.

My 7 year old daughter is my teacher who shares with me her innermost thoughts, because we have a relationship based on trust, I will ask her what I can post here and write accordingly…

Jibber Jabber

” I’m not saying its true… I’m telling you what I heard. ”

It’s a very east coast coast platitude designed to either go over heads or cause pause.

The wise have a look that is based in patience, awaiting a reaction; kind of, ‘am I being heard or are they just waiting for their turn to talk?’

She droned on about something or other without a clue as to what caused her new friend to walk away.

Life is like that.

Second Hand Embarrassments!

I have always found it difficult to watch others make fools of themselves.

Which probably says more about me than it does about them.

Cringeworthy sappy self centered childish attention seeking, is obviously something I have unconsciously buried and don’t require reminders of;and would really appreciate it if the rest of y’all might take into consideration when you feel the need to embarrass yourselves… Thank you.

Shenanigans

Craig said he liked the word and wondered aloud the origin of shenanigans?

I looked it up on Google.

From the mid 1900’s, origin unknown. Means silly mischief…

“Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?” Jack asked, his eyes smiling.

Brian met the bank manager for a loan. While filling out the application the manager asked Brian who his father is… Brian answered, ” Your guess is as good as mine. ”

Little Molly Merton was bragging about the great exploits of her less than average father. Margaret, my mother smiled, “Daddy shit a bear?!”

Shenanigans!

I’m blaming the Irish or Scottish!

The Beautiful Symmetry of WAAA! (The Best Advice)

It comes in waves…

The expression of complaints.

Gaining momentum, seemingly feeding off itself.

A self fulfilling prophecy of low self esteem: ranting that they can do it better! WAAAAAAAA!!!

Really? Are you sure? Do you ever listen to yourself?

Kelly O’Brien said it best, ” You are entering a world where people will complain about free food… as soon as you hear that shit; walk away. ”

The Beautiful Symmetry of walking away.

One Childhood

She said, “You only get one childhood.”

He said, ” That may be true however some folks extend that into an entire lifetime.”

She said, ” You’re missing my point. I’m not talking about childish, emotionally sensitive, idealistic motherfuckers who don’t grow up… I’m talking about childish, emotionally sensitive idealists who don’t let their children have a proper childhood because they can’t get their heads out of their own arses. ”

He smiled, ” We are on the same page.”

The Meal Ticket

If you knew me back then… It might be hard to comprehend that I could be someone’s meal ticket.

Life is strange that way… Dylan talked about how, he that was last would be first and he that was first would be last and here we are.

To be thought of as someone’s pawn has such elements of being shortsighted with terrible planning that the humor can’t be lost.

Ah the plans of mice and women.
