Step 1 New Paint 48×48 Acrylic on Canvas

The sentence was death by boredom. The virus spread the earth.
Madness rained down upon them. Like some monsters giving birth.
They handed out free money. The kind that makes you soft.
And nearly jumped out their skin. When someone smiled and coughed.
Then Dylan put out an album. With a song called Murder Most Foul.
That sounds as disgusted as I feel. Like the purging of a bowel.
I’ve learned to take the blessings, take them as they come.
He is at another level, a bit too much for some.

The blessing of social media is we actually get to hear what are on the minds of the protesters without actually being there.
One can only hope that certain individuals live long enough to feel the embarrassment that age has brought the rest of us without the feed of video and audio.

She said, “We are all love and light.”
I suggested she sell crazy somewhere else.
I watch people escape the urban jungle and madness to peaceful soothing nature and return as if their experience is universal.
A few minutes in rush hour public transit and Mrs. Love and Light will be right back to rage against the masses.

Summer Solstice!
Fathers Day…
White Women of privilege have another opportunity to protest and hijack real victimhood under the brightest of spotlights… You go girls! Ain’t nobody getting sick of that shit!

It’s a heatwave in the city.
Father’s Day has caused offense.
Riots and pandemic have given way.
To this holiday that makes no sense.
So the weeping Dads have surrendered.
The tears are tears of laugh.
So few bothered to bring a gift.
You highlight with your wrath.

It’s color until darkness and I feel darkness now.
It’s raining down around me, a cold comfort still somehow.
I don’t know where I’m going but then that’s nothing new.
The faith is feeling frayed and worn and just like that it grew.
I know I can’t convince you but sometimes I still try.
Forever is such a long time to hear you say goodbye.
It’s life and that gets lonely and in that I’m not alone.
I’m just another traveler whose now weary to the bone.
So know now that I love you and that I really tried.
And that I always told the truth except those times I lied.

I tried so hard to be vegan.
It was eating me inside.
But Fat Nancy put on the steaks
She took me for a ride.
It’s always now or never.
Though it’s something in between.
My kingdom my kingdom for a horse.
But the horse was with the Queen.
I might sound low and bitter.
My heart is light and free.
I just wish you wouldn’t sit so close.
You are fucking with my chi.

Watching fires burn now.
Burning something that’s got to go.
Changes are upon us.
A new world’s going to grow.

Still in the quiet, dreading that sound. Something less awful coming around. Pain and the dread that’s living inside. Promises made on words that have lied.
Damned if I don’t and damned if I do. Taking the path that leads back to you. Humble with power with me in the way. Still in the quiet at least for today.
