The Drive

The mist rose off the water.

There was anguish in a song.

I drifted off to somewhere.

Where perhaps I stayed too long.

There were whispers in the melody.

About harm done long ago.

We arrived somehow on schedule.

Said, “It’s best that you don’t know.”

Something Here Is Happening Here

Something here is happening here, and no need to wonder why. No anxiety need or worry. No, no sadness or need to cry.

It’s just a floating bubble that’s just waiting here for word. I’m trying. I’m succeeding. Now the lines are kinda blurred.

I’ve got this weird reaction to someone else’s plan. There is something quite authentic here, though I can’t say I’m a fan.

This world keeps right on turning. I’ve been invited for the ride. I’ve been born into this chaos. What I’ve learned, I have applied.

There’s no moral to the story. Or not one that I can see. Something here is happening here and is struggling to break free.

When I find it and I’m certain, I will look for something more. Because by then, I won’t know when, or why or who, what for?

The New Drug?

My Doctor retires without notice.

My daughters teacher quits her teaching post with 8 weeks to go in the school year because her husband got a job transfer…

Ricky makes a joke and people are offended.

Amber lied in court and is offended that people don’t believe her.

Is narcissism the new drug? Or am I being too sensitive?

The Trick?

For as long as I can remember, I loathe the act of disappointing others.

There must be a trick to doing this as I have observed others being able to accomplish this task with an effortlessness that appears natural.

Maybe you just learn early that none are more important to you than you and perhaps  this knowledge makes this unpleasantness easier.

Maybe it’s breath control? I don’t know…

Today I had to tell my 10 years old daughter that I couldn’t take her to see her relatives this summer in Europe due to financial reasons. She said she understood and is being beyond reasonable…

Maybe the trick is just being honest?

The Waves

The waves they kept on coming.

Landing on what we call the shore.

And faded back into abyss.

And keep coming back for more.

Me? I sat there drinking.

Into the deepest darkest night.

There was something in that magic.

And you were out of sight.

I swam into the ocean.

The sea, the salt, the sand.

Can’t say why I keep coming back.

Except… nothing better planned.
