A Boy Named Sue – Johnny Cash
My Pa left home when I was 3…
He didn’t leave much for Ma and me.
Except this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.

Everybody Knows – Leonard Cohen
Everybody knows that you love me baby. Everybody knows that you really do. Everybody knows that you’ve been faithful. Give or take a night or two.

Folsom Prison Blue’s-Johnny Cash
I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. When I hear that whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry.

Hallelujah- Leonard Cohen
I tried my best, it wasn’t much.
I couldn’t feel so I tried to touch.
I told the truth, I didn’t come to fool you.
And even though it all went wrong.
I’ll stand before the Lord of Song.
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah!

Things Have Changed- Bob Dylan
“Standing in the gallows with my head in a noose. Any second now I’m expecting all hell to break loose…
I’m in the wrong town, I’m in Hollywood. Just for a second there, I thought I saw something move.”

Counting Crows-Adam Duritz.
From the song- Perfect Blue Building.
“I got bones beneath my skin and mister. There is a skeleton in every man’s house. Beneath the dust and swet and love that hangs on everybody… is a dead man trying to get out.”

Blind Willie McTell… by Bob Dylan.
“God is in his heaven.
And we all want what’s his.
But Power and Greed and Corruptible Seed
Seems to be all that there is.”

My favorite line in any film is “Sell crazy somewhere else,we are all stocked up here.” The film is ‘As Good as it Gets. ‘
The opportunities to use this line in real life are so abundant that I feel I soon could be sued for copyright.
Which brings me to my complicated relationship with narcissim. It is not that I know very many. I don’t. However I see the signs in abundance and when I do, I immediately go to, “Sell crazy somewhere else…”
My circle is getting small.

I felt bad for her joy for there was no chance it could last.
“You can’t even be happy for my successes?” She hurled her statement question my way.
“I just know the going up isn’t worth the coming down for what its worth.”
I was embarrassed that I was so easy to read. I knew that I should work on that.
Funny how one instinctively knows when the moment of change is at hand.

The Wait is almost over. A strange feeling fills the air.
She walks in pain and out the door. With a strong dramatic flair.
I know I’m going to miss her . No specifics come to my mind.
I searched for someone special. Oh and special I did find.
Be careful what you wish for, I heard the old ones say.
Those words are ringing in my ears. Tears of joy are on the way.
