My first novel ‘Look Them In the Eyes’ published almost 3 months ago, and things are beginning to happen…
My half-sister Joyce, whom I hadn’t spoken to in almost 5 years, contacted me and let me know that she had read my novel, loved it, and died 2 weeks later. I was happy she approved and also that she reached out to me. She was a character in the Nov under a fictitious name, and getting her seal of approval matters to me.
Today, a first cousin from my father’s side of my family, whom I have never met or heard of, has reached out to say she is getting my book because she is interested in the topic of intergenerational transmission of family disfunction as it pertains to our family. Maria left her phone number and mentioned that she had met my mother when she was very young. I will be calling her tomorrow.
A friend of mine, Luke, told me that putting my book out there would take me to places that I could never predict, and once again, Luke is correct.
These are turns of events that I could never have seen coming; and there is much to be thankful for…

Kudos Dennis. It seems your book has touched a chord and opened family doors.
