12 years ago, actually… I was in the final leg of an 11-week vacation, which had taken me to France and Italy and finally Bali. I had spent the final 7 weeks on a beach in the Indian Ocean when one day I realized that I had experienced enough vacation for one lifetime and I wanted to go home to the structure of Toronto and my life there.
It’s -14 degrees in the middle of January, and I’m working nights on a commercial for picture frames at Homesense…
I’m not complaining. No, really. Not once have I ever longed for that beach in Bali. Generally speaking, I’m happy where I’m at.
Seasons come and Seasons go…

Interesting perspective on travel. I have yearned for travel for years, but sense I might be getting to a point where I value the structure, familiarity, and home more.
