We were separated from the palatial estates of my childhood: but only in our minds.
Our estate was a cattle and vegetable farm with no indoor plumbing except in the barn.
When others were making the decisions, water was brought by buckets from the hand pump to the pantry.
Such esteem said much about priorities.
I loved that farm and that time however a shower would have been a grand addition to the palatial estate.
